TRITON TIMBER GROUP is the world leader in the extraction and recovery of submerged wood. Our teams have developed an innovative harvesting technology, SHARC , which enables the responsible exploitation of submerged forests around the world. The company is a subsidiary of the VOLTALIA group, a specialist in renewable energies.
MISSION
The primary role of this position is to harvest submerged tree's using Triton's proprietary shallow water underwater harvesting machine, the SHARC at Petit-Saut, French Guiana. The SHARC is a barge mounted forestry machine with a telescoping boom married to a directional felling head. The entire system is moved through the water by three azimuth drives controlled by a Dynamic Positioning System (DPS). Candidates for this position can choose between shift-based (month on, month off) or location-based work in French Guiana. The position will report to the Head of Harvesting Operations., General * The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day operation and maintenance of the SHARC harvester as well as transport to and from the harvest area via crew boat. * Operators will be expected to perform on-site, labour-based activities when not operating equipment. * Conduct activities in accordance with Corporate Policy and Triton Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Ensure that all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, professional and ethical standards. * Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all relevant data and systems. * Attend appropriate team meetings and provide constructive feedback and support to other team members. * Maintain a positive relationship with department heads in both Triton's Corporate Office as well as in subsidiary offices as they are established through constructive feedback, assistance, and provision of various reports.
PROFIL RECHERCHÉ
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Ability to harvest trees using single-grip harvesting equipment. * Achieve production targets without compromising personnel or equipment safety. * High capacity for thinking spatially. * Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. * Basic working knowledge of windows-based computer programs. * Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair. * Work with the engineering group to improve performance of the equipment. * Excellent communication skills., * 5 years of relevant experience with single-grip harvesting equipment. * Proven capability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain hydraulic and mechanical systems. * Ability to travel internationally and work abroad for extended periods of time. * Valid passport and driver's licence. * Marine experience would be an asset. * Current Level 1 Occupational First Aid with Transport Endorsement is an asset. * Boat operator's licence is an asset. * Previous overseas or camp work is an asset.
